Pune: Police Pimpri Chinchwad on Monday restored the body decomposed by Sojrabai Jogdand (70), which was reported missing since July 14 from his residence in Laxminagar in Jerawada.
“Active search for Sajrabai’s son-in-law (55), who allegedly conspired by his sister’s son, Imtiyaz Shaikh (25), to kill the victim and throw his body in the bushes,” Police Commissioner Pimpri Chinchwad Krishna Prakash said on Tuesday.
Sojrabai’s son married a Muslim woman.
After his death, the victim and his daughter-in-law will often fight over various problems.
He has also led him from their home.
Police arrested Imtiyaz, a resident of Dehu Road, a suspect in two murder cases before the instant case.
He came out with a guarantee in a case of murder and conditional elsewhere.
“As long as it was interrogated, Imiyaz said his aunt wanted to eliminate Sojrabai,” said the police commissioner.
On Tuesday, the court ordered the detention of Imtiyaz in police custody until August 30.
