Jodhpur: Drdo on Wednesday said the latest sophisticated chaff technology to keep the IAF fighter jet gave passive traffic jams against the infrared threat and radar.
In collaboration with Pune-based DrDO facilities, the Defense Laboratory in Jodhpur has developed sophisticated chaff and husk cartridges.
At the press conference on Wednesday, Director of Defense Lab at Jodhpur Ravindra Kumar said Chaff was a critical defense technology used to protect combat aircraft from hostile radar threats.
“In the current electronic warfare, the survival of combat aircraft is very alarming because of progress in modern radar threats.
To ensure the continuity of the aircraft, the counter expenditure system (CMDS) is used which provides passive disorders of the infrared threat and radar,” Kumar said.
He said the importance of this technology lies in the fact that very few amounts of chaffif material deployed in air acting as bait to deflect enemy missiles to ensure fighter aircraft security.
Kumar has been given to the industry for large amounts of production to meet the annual circulation of the Indian Air Force.
Previously, Uni Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had praised Drdo, IAF and the industry for the development of this critical technology custom, filling it as a step again DRDO towards ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’ in strategic defense technology.
