Kolkata: Tabla Virtuoso PT Subhankar Banerjee, a Soloist who is a good solo and collaborator with the biggest names in Indian classical music and international fusion, died on Wednesday after a two-month battle with post-covid complications.
He is 55 years old.
Banerjee has contracted Covid in June and requires hospitalization despite being fully vaccinated.
According to a statement from the Medica Supps / Hospital, where he shifted on July 2 with ECMO’s support, he suffered “severe ARDS Covid with septic shock”.
Banerjee is a very disbursed person to challenge the biggest names in Indian classical music.
