PUNE: Six major confidence hospitals in town will probably begin providing free medical services to patients with mucormycosis beneath the state-sponsored general health strategy.
A number of 10 health care units — mostly private/deemed and state-run medical schools — began supplying individualized therapy to the patients following such set-ups were advised as mucormycosis care systems under the scheme every week.
The accession of six major trust associations will choose the amount of free-treatment centers to 16 from the Pune Metropolitan Region (PMR).
Pune district has 26 percent (650 sufferers ) of this nation’s 2,500 mucormycosis patients.

“The Pune district collectorate was requested to call for the charity commissioner’s office to maintain talks with these six major hospitals so they begin offering free therapy for patients with mucormycosis below the state administration’s Mahatma Phule Jan Arogya Yojana (MPJAY),” said Sudhakar Shinde, chief executive officer (CEO), MPJAY.
The officers with all the charity commissioner’s office will soon be holding a meeting with all these six hospitals May 27 to talk about their doubts and concerns about the scheme.
Bomi Bhote, CEO, Ruby Hall Clinic stated,”We will take a decision concerning our involvement in the MPJAY following the interview with the officers.
” Vindo Sawantwadkar, CEO, Jehangir Hospital, stated,”There is not any clarity about different packages offered under this strategy.
We will need to clear doubts” Senior physician Dhananjay Kelkar, medical manager, Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital, stated,”The month-long treatment together with the injection alone prices within Rs15-18 lakh.
