Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh government on Thursday launched the national education policy of 2020 (NEP-2020) in the state and became the second country in the country to implement NEP-2020 after Karnataka.

Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Governor of Mangubhai C Patel, and Higher Education Minister Dr.
Mohan Yadav was present at the launch.
Speaking on that occasion, Yadav said that new education policies would damage all the shackles and help students explore their boundaries.
“Previously, a student had to study subjects being prescribed according to a course.
But now they can choose their subjects according to their interests,” he said.

“This new policy also focuses on the National Service Scheme (NSS), National Cadet Corps (NCC), and skills-based subjects,” he added.
Yadav informed that the government also introduced agricultural science as a subject at Vikram University and Rani Durgavati University to open new roads for students.
The minister said that the government intends to implement NEP-2020 in all regions of the country, which includes 16 government universities and 40 private universities, within four years.
When asked about the placement of campuses in the state, Yadav said that the government had taken creative measures to improve placement in the state.
“We have mobilized placement for each district in the state.
Last year, 86,000 students got a job through the placement of universities.
We intend to increase it into two lakh this year,” he said.
The central government launched NEP on July 29, 2020.
At his first warning last month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a safal (structured assessment to analyze learning), competency-based assessment for value 3, 5, and 8 was introduced by the Central Secondary Education Agency (CBSE).
