Pune: The Cantonment police on Wednesday night arrested three livestock owners who were responsible for negligence after the buffalo went berserk, hitting two vehicles and injuring the couple in Jaan Mohammad Street at Camp on August 8 then released with a guarantee at the police station.
Bhavani Petr Resident Zubair Shaikh, who was injured with his wife, underwent treatment for internal wounds and then approached the police on Wednesday to register complaints.
Three livestock owners – Shanawaz Qureshi, Sadakat Qureshi and Nadaf Qureshi – called, arrested and then released with a guarantee.
“We released them with a guarantee because they were arrested in allied violations,” said Senior Inspector Ashok Kadam on Thursday.
The incident brought ahead of disturbances caused by buffalo in the camp area.
Local residents said that the proposal to move livestock warehouses from a solid area to alternative locations in the Taman Koregaon and Tanowrie Tannery had not seen the light on that day since 1988.
