Gorakhpur: President of RAM Nath Kovind on Saturday inaugurated Mahayogi Gorakhnath Vishwavidyalaya in Sonbarsa here and expressed confidence that the university would produce students who would contribute to building strong and independent India.
The University runs under Maharana Pratap Siksha Parishad from Goraksha Peeth.
Previously on that day, the President had also put a stone foundation in the Ayush University in Pipri.
Speaking after inaugurating universities, Kovind noted that he was convinced that the University of Mahayogi Gorakhnath “will prepare knowledgeable students who will contribute to building independent, strong and healthy India”.
He also talked about the 2020 National Education Policy (NEP) and how he imagined that education had to build character.
NEP also follows Swami Vivekan’s ideology that education must promote mental strength, the development of the mind and also allow a person to stand on his feet, he said.
One NEP goal is to increase the curriculum and pedagogy of our institution and also to create awareness among students about their fundamental tasks and constitutional values ​​and their roles and responsibilities as citizens in the world have changed, he noticed.
Kovind also expressed confidence that new universities will conduct employment courses that are suitable for hours in addition to courses in yoga, Ayurveda, medical education, higher education and technical education, and will encourage high-level research.
He hopes it will also run the education course and development of vocational skills for students.
The president added that Goraksha Peeth had played a major role in Indian social awakening for centuries.
“During the Indian freedom movement, Peeth has played an important role in political awakening and even now working for public services, education and medical services,” he said.
