High supply chains and logistics costs make Indian products less competitive in the global market.
Current supply chain and logistics costs in India contribute to around 14% of GDP countries compared to the global average of around 8%.
Modi on August 15 has announced that the total size of the Gati Shakti project will become the RS 100 Lakh Crore to develop holistic infrastructure.
The purpose of this project will increase efficiency by optimizing the necessary infrastructure, which will help reduce logistics costs.
While the project will be pioneered by the logistics division in the Ministry of Commerce, there will be a group of empowered secretaries led by the Cabinet Secretary to see the implementation of this main initiative.
