New Delhi: Four months ago, almost all districts in Delhi reported 2,000-3,000 cases of Covid-19 every day.
However, with a stable decline in the novel Coronavirus infection in the capital, seven districts recently reported every zero or one new case while none of the 11 districts recorded more than five cases.
Shahdara and the northern district reported not one case on August 22, and the middle, northeast, northwest, new district and the western district of one case respectively, stated a wise Covid report, accessed by TOI.
According to the report, which detailed the situation between 10 and 22 August, the North District reported zero cases on four days, northeast and Shahdara on three days and west on two days.
The northern district even saw zero cases on three consecutive days.
This report shows that the district has made a big step in examining the spread of viruses through detention measures such as high daily tests and enforcement of strict safety norms.
A health department official said one of the key factors behind turnaround was a sustainable daily covid test rate that caused early detection and prevented the spread.
Although the positive level is 0.5% or less for a long time now, each district is still carrying out 3,000 to 5,700 Covid tests every day, most of them RT-PCR.
Delhi conducted 64,810 tests on Tuesday, where 42,085 was more effective in RT-PCR.
However, Dr.
Arun Gupta, Delhi’s medical council president and Delhi government panel members in Covid-19, warned against self-sufficiency.
“Districts who report zero cases are a good sign, but too early to state that a Covid free district if there are no cases reported for three consecutive days,” Dr.
Gupta said.
“People must be careful because most of the economic activities have been permitted and because of the beginning of the celebration season, public places are getting crowded.” The doctor added, “Only more than 35.5 Delhies Lakh was fully vaccinated, so many were still at risk.
People must follow all the norms that fit Covid.”
