Nashik: After almost 14 months the number of cases of active Covid in Nashik City has dropped below 450-mark.
City, as on Sundays, has 449 active patients.
From them, 420 underwent treatment at a civil and private hospital while the remaining 29 was under quarantine at home.
During the first wave of last year, the city had 440 and 481 Covid active cases on the 15th and 16th of June each.
A Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) official said the number of active cases had increased to 6,200 in September 2020 during the first wave, but there had been a decrease in the number of new cases since October 2020.
“The number of active cases has decreased to around 500 in the first week of February this year.
But the cases once again began to increase from the second week of February.
Suddenly there was a surge in new cases in March and April due to the second waves.
On April 23, the number of active cases in the city had reached 28,000, “the official said.
“But from May and so on, the trend began to reverse because there was a decrease in a new case.
Now, active cases in the city have recorded a 14-month low which is a positive sign.
Coronavirus infectivity has been reduced and the virus becomes light.
Therefore, the number of cases a day -Hari has reduced and recovery has increased.
