Lucknow: The 52-year-old personal secretary of the Secretary of the Head of the Government is suspected of trying to commit suicide by shooting himself in his office in Bapu Bhawan on Hazratganj on Monday.
Deputy Deputy Police Commissioner Additional Police, Central Zone, Chiranjeev Nath Sinha said that the personal secretary of the Secretary of the Head (Urban Development) Rajnish Dubey was identified as Vishambhar Dayal trying to commit suicide using a licensed revolver.
The incident occurred in his office on the eighth floor of Bapu Bhawan.
“He reached the office at around 1:30 a.m.
around 1:45 other staff in the office heard gunshots and found that the office was closed from inside,” Sinha said.
Sinha also said that the police had restored suicide notes written by the secretary of the place.
“The secretary wrote in a commemorile suicide that he was stressed because of the ongoing disputes and cases nested among his sisters with his in-laws in the Auras police station in Unnao District,” Sinha added.
Sinha also said that the case investigation was being carried out by the IG range of Lucknow, Laxmi Singh.
The condition of the secretary is said to be critical and treated at the central trauma kgmu.
The police recovered revolver from within the office where the scene occurred.
This area has been corrected and the Forensic Field Unit has been in a hurry to collect evidence from the place.
Bapu Bhawan is part of the secretariat complex that accommodates the office of the government department.
