HYDERABAD: Telangana medical police on Thursday functioned 88 show cause notices to 64 private physicians for allegedly overcharging Covid-19 sufferers and establish a 48-hour deadline to react or get rid of licence to deal with coronavirus patients.
Health department officials stated bulk of these hospitals run from Hyderabad and also Cyberabad.

“Of those 88 complaints obtained, 39 are in center Hyderabad town, 22 in Medchal- Malkajgiri, 135 in Ranga Reddy.
Most of the hospitals have been in Hyderabad.
The one who has the maximum number of complaints would be that a hospital at Kukatpally,” Telangana general health manager Dr G Srinivasa Rao explained.
The majority of the complaints received are all about excessive charging, vandalism, bed occupancy and drug-related problems.
Charge of extra billing proved to be a frequent complaint with a few patients being requested to pay Rs 1.
