New Delhi: The Navy on Tuesday signed a contract with the defense of PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) for the supply of the first comprehensive anti-drone system developed significantly (NADS), with harsh and soft killing capabilities.
NADS, developed by Drdo and produced by bell, is an anti-drone system developed by the original which will be included in the Indian armed forces.
“NADS can directly detect and cook micro drones and use a laser-based murder mechanism to stop the threat of fast moving air.
This will be a counter-effective counter to increase the threat of drones to the strategic naval installation,” said an official.
The anti-drone system was first used to provide security protection for the Republican Day Parade this year and then during the address of the Independence Day PM from the Red Fortress, as reported by TII before.
The system, which offers 360 degree coverage, is also deployed at Ahmedabad for Modi-Trump Roadshow.
“NADS uses the help of radar, electro-optical / infrared (EO / IR) sensors and radio frequency detectors (RF) to detect and micro-drone jam,” he said.
“RF / Global DrDO (GNSS) navigation satellite system detects the frequency used by the controller and the signal then jammed.
Both the static and cellular versions of NADS will be supplied to the Navy in a short time from the signing of the contract,” he added.
