Mumbai: With the Ganesh festival just a few days, Mumbai police have begun to take action against people who are found to roam the streets and other public places in the city without a face mask in the middle of the Pandemic Coronavirus, an official said on Friday.
The ten-day Ganesh festival, which is celebrated with entirely Maharashtra, will begin on September 10.
“Mumbai police are preparing to provide security throughout the city during the upcoming celebration season.
When people come out on the streets to celebrate the festival, the police have begun to take action against people if they are found not wearing masks,” the official said .

All police stations in the city of Metropolis have been asked to act against the offenders, he said.
Mumbai reported 441 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday, the second day in a row more than 400 infections, and three new deaths.
The city has witnessed a steady increase in Covid-19 infection since the day after reporting 190 cases on August 16, which is the lowest daily count since April 2020.
