Thane: Thane City continues to witness a surge in the case of Covid-19 daily and a surge in the number of active cases.
On Friday, 63 people were tested positively, taking the total number of cases to 1,37,420.
Among new cases, Majiwada-Manada reported 21 cases, followed by 17 in Naupda-Kopri and 11 in Vartak Nagar Ward.
Local-Sawarkar Nagar reported no new case.
Six people were positively tested in Kalwa, four in Uthalsar, and two in Mumbra.
Wagale and Diva reported each case.
The overall death toll now stands at 2,083 with one person who surrendered to the virus, according to the Covid-19 Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) report.
During the day, 35 people were also dismissed.
So far, 1,34,819 people have recovered from viruses.
With the addition of new cases and relatively fewer recovery, active cases have increased to 518 of 491 on Thursday.
The level of recovery of Covid-19 in the TMC area was 98.11 percent and a double number was 1,994.
