Chennai: Tamil Nadu has been looking for additional vaccine doses to autoculate 100% of people who live in nine border sharing areas with Kerala, said Minister of Health MA Subramanian.
After meeting the Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya in New Delhi, Subramanian said, “TN will receive 1.4 doses of crore vaccines in September.
We told him that we had the capacity to vaccinate 2 people crore a month, we looked for additional doses to cover the border sharing Regency with Kerala.
He has told us that he would consider, “he said.
TN received 19 lakh doses of additional vaccines in June and 34 additional doses in August.
After wasting around 4.34 doses of lakh in the first four months of the drive, TN has given 7 lakh more doses from the bottle used, he said.
The state has also requested permission to vaccinate a 17-year-old student with a child’s dose, he said.
The Minister, who visited Delhi along with Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan and other senior officials, who discussed the need to accelerate AIIM’s development in Madurai, and sanctions for new medical trade.
“We also told him about the problem with Neet.
TN will introduce a law against Neet before September 11,” he said.
