New Delhi: A Delhi house keeper driven by debt allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at the police station, officials said Monday.
Brij Lal (46), a native of Khurja in the Bulandshahr district in Uttar Pradesh, posted at the Pandagav Nagar police station in East Delhi, they said.
He rushed to the LBS hospital, where the doctor stated he was taken dead.
The body has shifted to the corpse for post-mortem while the medical board is being formed for autopsy, deputy commissioner of Police (DCP) Priyanka Kashyap.
According to the police, the deceased was under debt around Rs 30 Lakh.
Lal survives by his wife and four children.
His family has been told, DCP said.
The police are investigating the case of all possible angles, they said.
