Lucknow: Praise the efforts included by the health team and administrative machinery to increase Covid-19 vaccination in the state, Head of Yogi Adityanath’s Minister on Tuesday directing relevant officials to vaccinate 50% of one dose with the end of this week.
“The need for hours is to vaccinate people on the war footing to build herd immunity and fight the third wave of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Up now must target to vaccinate 50% of the qualified population (at least one dose) in a week,” official statement, quoted the minister’s chairman, say.
In accordance with official estimates based on census and election data, 15.25 crore people above must be vaccinated.
Of these, 6.87 Crore has received at least one dose of around 44.9% of the target.
‘More than 33 doses of lakh were given in 75 districts’ meal, the final data on the number of doses given on Monday was released.
The official sheet said that 33.42 doses of lakh were given by the health team in 75 districts which were the highest by any country in one day.
“There is no other country that has vaccinated the people at such a fast speed,” said a health official.
At least 13.35 doses of lakh given on Tuesday take the total number of doses given at up to 8.22 crores.
CM has also requested top health officials to stay in touch with officials at the UNI Ministry of Health to ensure that the supply of vaccines needed is given to the state.
“Continuous contact must be maintained with the Indian government for the availability of vaccines and efforts to be made to accelerate the shipping process,” CM said in a meeting with Team 9.
Data showed that UP needed to encourage vaccination in 18- 45 years of group age to be able to achieve the target.
People in saying while the moral of the health team is high, many will depend on the availability of vaccines.
