Skopje: Ten people were killed in Wednesday’s fire at the hospital who treated Coronavirus patients in North Macedonia, said the Minister of Health.
The fire – the cause is not yet known – broken at the Covid-19 clinic in Tetovo in northwest the Balkan, Minister of Health Venko Filipce wrote on Twitter.
“Terrible accidents have occurred in Tetovo.
At present, 10 people are certain to have died, but that number can rise,” he wrote, expressed “deep condolences” to the families of the victims.
Fire services were told by fire around 1900 GMT, and it took about 45 minutes to extinguish.
This clinic was only built last year to maintain Covid-19 patients.
Northern Macedonia has around two million populations, and health care services are slum.
It has reported the increase in Coronavirus infection recently, with the number of daily deaths reaching around 30.
The country has recorded more than 6,100 deaths in total since the commencement of Pandemic.
