Mumbai: The first integrated municipal municipal in the city will be built on the Layout of the 143-Acre MHADA, the road is cleared by the Country Cabinet when approving the RS 20,000 Crore Plan to rebuild for Motilal Nagar in Goregaon (West) on Wednesday.
Housing Minister Jitendra Awhad said 33,000 new flats would be built, adding rebuilding would be carried out in four phases for 10 years.
This will serve as a model for rebuilding other Mhada layouts in the city.
Motilal Nagar, the largest layout in the city, was built in 1960 for a more economically weaker part.
It has 3,700 prements, which is a plus-plus-one structure, and is also home to 1,600 Slumdweller.
Motilal NGR will be rebuilt based on the contract: Awhadthe City will see its first integrated cities appearing in Motilal Nagar in Goregaon (West) when returned by Mhada.
Green signal for the project was given by the cabinet on Wednesday.
Motilal Nagar is the layout of Mhada spread across 143 hectares.
Mhada has a large layout in various parts of the city.
Many saw negligent in the hands of Mhada and the government, producing large-scale encroachment in open space by residents and political parties.
Cabinet approval for the Motilal Nagar plan is needed because the government has now taken power from Mhada to approve all the rebuilding in its layout.
Many rebuilding projects have been languishing for years and residents whose homes have been destroyed have lived elsewhere without renting.
While the government received several complaints about it, could not intervene because there was no tripartite agreement with Mhada.
The new state housing department issued the government’s resolution that it would be the final authority for issuing any intention to rebuild anything to maintain inspection and ensure rapid rebuilding.
Awhad said Motilal Nagar will be rebuilt based on contracts and development, where MHADA will appoint developers who will invest money and profits will be distributed.
Asked about the fraud of rebuilding in Patra Rumah Petak, which Mhada after 22 years will now rebuild itself, Awhad said: “In the case of patra the tenement is an agreement agreement.
In this case it is a contract and development agreement.
We will ensure the government is not inferior.
“The Layout of the Mhada is permitted by the Space Index (FSI) of 4 in addition to Fungible FSI, which is 35% of the built-up area and is provided free of charge for rehabilitation components.
Mhada has appointed a consortium of Sandeep Shirke and Associates and Das and Associates to prepare the master plan .
Das, an architect, city planner and activist, said: “Integrated municipalities will consist of affordable housing, affordable workplaces, all open spaces designated in the development plan will be provided with schools, markets, parking lots, and others other.
