Panaji: Minister of Science and Technology Michael Lobo on Wednesday said that he would ask the Head of the Minister of Pramod Sawant to allow casinos to reopen at least 50%, by following all Covid protocols.
If Casinos restart their operations, it will help increase the number of tourists visiting Goa and reviving this sector, Lobo said.
He said many locals suffered because the tourism sector was exposed to a pandemic.
“I want to get another request before the Goa Government.
Many tourists go to the casino and today they are closed.
They must open at a capacity of 50%, by placing all Covid protocols.
The number of tourists who come to Goa will rise if the casino starts to operate again,” Lobo said.
Furthermore, the hotel had to cut its tariff drastically and that educated youth, entrepreneurs in the tourism sector have been beaten, he said, “to help start all of these businesses, we need to start all other activities related to tourism, such as water sports, by following Covid security prevention measures.
