Nagpur: The day after the Maharashtra government banned Darshan physically from the 10-day Ganesh Utsav which began September 10, Nagpur police also took out a similar order on Thursday.
City police notifications asked Mands public to set Darshan virtual instead.
However, the public mandal ganesh has expressed concern over the police notice at the eleventh hour.
Most of them say they have spent lakh in decorations and now if they ban worshipers will be injustice for donors.
The former MLC Prakash Gajbhiye said he would talk to Maharashtra’s home minister in this matter.
“If necessary, I will also contact the Head of Minister of Uddhav Thackeray for the City Police Dictate,” he said.
Citing the notification issued by the Ministry of State House, City Police have appealed to citizens to strictly follow Covid safety guidelines issued by the government in June.
The decision was taken to prevent the spread of the Covid virus in the city of Nagpur as the third wave of hiding, the city police said.
It also urges residents not to packerve public places while celebrating Ganesh Utsav.
“Gudging, residents must wear a mask and ensure physical distance,” the police said.
Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar said the city police were preparing to ensure a 10-day peace celebration of Ganesh Utsaav.
For this, 3,500 police, 1,000 housekeepers and one PLETON SRP company will be deployed.
About 800 Public Ganesh Mandal was given permission, and was asked to follow voluntary restrictions.
Police patrols will be intensified to oversee every violation, which results in action.
“The sound system of more than 75 decibels will not be permitted,” he added.
Commissioner of the city of Radhakrishnan B too supported the direction of the city police and told TOI that all assistant Commissioner City 10 zones had been instructed to ensure strict implementation of notifications issued by NMC.
NMC has banned religious procession during the Ganesh festival given the threat of the third-19 Covid wave.
“We have asked the mandal to make a simple fixed celebration.
NMC has also issued instructions for the mandal to regulate health programs instead of cultural events,” said the nodal officer of the solid management of Dr.
Gajendra Mahalle.
NMC has also requested Mandal to follow all Covid-19 protocols, including Darshan Online through social networking sites, local cable networks and websites etc.
NMC has instructed the mandal to ensure no rush during meaning, Bhajan, Kirtan and other religious programs.
Former MLC Prakash Gajbhiye and the founder of EKTA Ganesh Mandal, slammed the decision and claimed that his mandal had obtained permission from NMC.
“This time we set the vaccination drive and all ICMR guidelines will be strictly followed,” he said.
Sanjay Chinchole of Shree Santi Sarvajanik Ganesh Mandal in Central Nagpur – One of the oldest mandals in the city – criticized the decision.
“Even though we have no choice but to follow police instructions, they can get them far earlier,” Chinchole said.
Mandal has completely obeyed the Covid protocol, said the organizer.
“We will also save the scanner and thermal sanitis,” they said.
