Chennai: Chief Minister M K Stalin on Thursday said the state government did not oppose the celebration of Vinayaka Chaturthi, but only asked people to celebrate at home and did not hold demonstrations or immerse idols on the coast because of covid restrictions.
The main minister responded to BJP Mla Nainar Nagendran, who accused that Vinayaka’s idol sold by Potters on the side of the road was transferred by the police, causing mirror.
“The government does not say that Vinayaka Chaturthi should not be celebrated.
People can put idols in their homes and worship.
The restrictions imposed by the state government are based on the Guidelines for the Workers Government.
We are still not out of Pandemic Covid.
That is why restrictions have been enforced , “Stalin said.
After the request of Nagendran, the minister’s chairman also announced that the government would introduce bills on Monday to improve monthly pensions for MLAS from RS 20,000 to RS 25,000.
AIDMK (Alangulam) MLA Paul Manoj Pandian said the exclusive wings must be established in every police station to investigate cases of Pocso and Cyber crime, and the power of the state disaster response must be expanded to handle disasters.
He asked the government to bring the law or move the appeal at the APEX court which challenged the orders of the High Court that attacked the law that prohibited Rummy online.
