Nagpur: Chancellor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Saturday appointed representatives of Chancellor for the University of Amravati (AU) and the University of SNDT in Mumbai for five years.
While Professor Dileep Malkhede will be responsible for the AU, Ujwala Chakradeo will be at the SNDT affairs.
Both of them come from Vidarbha.
Malkhede will succeed in Murlidhar Chandekar whose term of office ends on June 1 while Chakradeo will be responsible for Shashikala Wanjari futures ending on July 2.
A few years ago, as many as eight VCs of state-run universities came from Nagpur University (NU).
Originally from Achalpur, Malkhede is a professor of Mechanical Engineering at the College of Engineering in Pune (CoEP).
He was in a representative for Aicte as an advisor since June 1, 2016.
After completing the two post-graduation graduation from government universities, Amravati, Malkhede completed a PhD from IIT-Mumbai and had extensive experience of teaching, research and administration.
Before joining Coep, he worked as a lecturer at the Government Polytechnic in Amravati.
Chakradeo serves as the principal of the SMT Manoramabai Mundle College of Architecture.
After completing the title of architecture from VNIT (Ershtwheile Vrce), he did MTech in the planning of the city and PhD on the same subject of the same institution.
After starting his career as a lecturer at Lad College, he climbed to the position of the principal.
While Malkhede will be responsible for Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeth’s Vilas Bhale, which holds the additional fee of AU VC, Chakradeo will take over from the University of Mumbai VC Suhas Pednekar.
For AU, the governor formed the search committee under the former Director Ncert JS Rajput to recommend him the name for VCS posts.
IIT (BHU) Director of Varanasi Pramod Kumar Jain and the Presidential Secretary of the Government of Maharashtra OP Gupta is another panel member.
The name Maldhede was announced after interviewing all candidates recommended by the panel.
