Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Rail Development Corporation (K-Rail) has appointed a consortium led by EQMS India LT to conduct a comprehensive environmental impact assessment (EIA) from Silverline Semi-Expressway.
This agreement is to complete the study and submit a report within fourteen months.
K-Rail has submitted an approval letter for Indian EQMS.
Other companies in the Consortium are Global EQMS Pvt Ltd and Inferer Development Consultancy Pvt Ltd EQMS Projects that have been carried out by EQMS India is the capacity of augmentation waterway-1 (JAL Marg Vikas) from Allahabad to Haldia, Mumbai Metro Lane, an extension of phase 1 Kochi Metro Rail from Petta to Tripunithura and Development of Phase-II from Kochi Metro from Jln Stadium to Infopark Via Kakanad, held a Social Assessment Protection and Resettlement Study for the RRT corridor Meerut Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut.
Previously, K-Rail had done a rapid eia as part of the preparation of detailed project reports.
The agreement includes detailed resettlement plan (RAP), Indigenous Peopulation Plan (IPP), and Environmental Management Plan (EMP).
This new study aims to identify the environmental impact of the semi-high railroad proposed and formulate social-environmental management plans to mitigate them.
“This study will ensure that the scheme complies with the existing national and state laws,” K train authorities.
