TNAU turned the decision back to bring down Sericulture BSC

Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) on Tuesday rolled back his decision to delay receipt to the BSC Sericulture program (Hons).
It has ended protests for a week by students and Bachelor PhD departments, trying to continue the program.
The four-year-old course has been offered at the TNAU’s Forest College and Research Institute in Mettupalayam.
The previous university’s academic council decided to suspend the course for the next two academic years.
Being informed that TNAU is looking for an alternative location for the department with a suitable environment for mulberry cultivation and silkworm maintenance.
Students have protested the steps for the past seven days.
Many farmer organizations have extended support to the protest.
PMK S Ramadoss leader on Monday condemned the TNAU government because he dropped the program and urged M K Chief of M K Stalin and Agriculture Minister M R Panneerselvam to intervene and ensure the continuation of the program.
After several talks, TNAU teams were led by M Kalyasundaram, Dean, Agriculture College and Research Institute, told students who were agitating about the decision not to stop the program on Tuesday.
S Ranjith Kumar, a PhD scholar from the Sericulture Department, thanked the Administration of TNAU for accepting their request.
“We have asked him to increase the department to college.”
