Letter: With a daily number of new covid cases left in one digit, health officials of the Municipal Corporation (SMC) letter breathe easily but don’t let their guard down.
On Monday six cases reported in the city compared to only one on Tuesday.
Over the past month the number of cases remains two or less.
With a pandemic that holds control at the moment, health officials are very monitoring new cases so that they come with steps to contain more viruses.
They have observed that among new cases almost 70% are those who have at least one dose of anti-covid vaccines.
Although most of them do not have serious symptoms, some elderly patients show mild disease.
However, most of them do not require hospitalization and cured under house isolation.
According to SMC health officials, among the qualified populations – which contributed all registered voters – from the city almost 90% have received a single dose of Covid-19 vaccine.
“From positive cases more than half vaccinated.
Despite the small increase, we did not let our guard down,” said a health official.
Senior health officials claim that the situation is not worrying like now.
Another aspect that was seen that officials had noticed was that most of the new cases came from the same family.
“Of the six positive reports of two or three cases come from the same family.
If one person is found positive, we test other family members.
In most cases, one or more family members also test positive,” said a health official.
As happened during the second wave, because the viral load and infectivity of more than one family member were getting infected, officials got information.
Meanwhile, health officials continue to identify micro detention areas and isolate patients at home.
“There will be an increase or decrease in small quantities but until the number in one digit is not worrying.
We maintain close closure,” the official added.
