Ahmedabad: If you have delayed your plan to buy a new car because you have no proof that you have a room to park it, this is the good news.
The Municipal Committee of the Municipal Corporation Ahmedabad on Thursday decided to impose proposed guidelines that mandate people to provide evidence of the availability of parking spaces before buying a vehicle.
The committee also decided to lead and distribute full force to the AMC commissioner for the implementation of new parking policies.
Confirming the news, Hitesh Barot, Chairman of the AMC Permanent Committee, said, “We have decided to remove a guideline from the proposed parking policy that requires citizens to provide proof of the parking space before they buy new vehicles.” Barot said that a committee will be formed to complete a new parking policy and suggest the implementation process.
Formulated last year, the proposed policy outlines several guidelines for smoothing city parking problems including the construction of multi-level parking facilities.
Earlier this month, the Supreme Court has ordered the Government of Gujarat to frame parking policies in two weeks.
