Patna: Sleuth of the Economic Violation Unit (Eou) conducted a simultaneous quest in four locations of IPS officers suspended by Rakesh Kumar Dubey in Patna and Jasidih at Jharkhand on Thursday.
Dubey has been accused of gathering a wealth that is not collected worth 2.56 crore, which is 85% more than the source of its known income.
Dubey is the first IPS officer to fight who is the disproportionate (DA) asset submitted and the search is done for alleged relationship with illegal sand mining mafia.
He has been removed from the SP post from Bhojpur in July this year and then bears the suspension after the initial investigation signaled his relationship with the sand mafia.
Additional Director General (ADG), Eou, Nayyar Hasnain Khan, said the DA case was submitted against the former Bhojpur SP on Wednesday and the search was made on Thursday after getting a competent warrant.
During the investigation, it was revealed that Dubey had invested big money through a construction company, Khyati builder, whose owner, Rakesh Kumar, was a close relative of the controversial builder, Anil Singh.
Singh, the owner of Patliputra Builders, was recently arrested for deceiving rupees with the pretext of giving them flats.
The enforcement directorate began actions against Singh.
In addition, money laundering evidence has been collected, which shows that police officers who were ordered to give money to people through certain agents.
The identity of such people is being confirmed.
The operation began at around 10 am and concluded at night.
Initially, the police team led by DSP ranking officers looking for Dubey’s residence near Gandhi Park in S K Puri here.
Another team searched a flat on Sudama Palace near Abhiyanta Nagar in the state capital.
Two separate teams conducted a search at his hotel in Jasidih and Ancestral House in Simaria near Jasidih in Jharkhand.
However, Dubey’s relatives told the raid team that police officers did not have property in their names in their home village.
Raiding team learned that the flat on Sudama Palace near Rupaspur in Patna has just been sold recently.
This flat was reportedly bought in the name of the Dubey sister.
Actions suddenly encouraged the search team to contact Builder, Rakesh Kumar, whose construction company, Khyati builder, has allocated flats.
When the builder Rakesh Kumar knew about the operation, he fled after closing his office.
However, he then returned to his office after being told about the spread of the judge to unlock the office.
Anticipating a search, the suspended IPS officer has safely divert gold jewelry from his home.
