Kanpur: A chemical engineer and former Iitian, who fled to Kanpur after allegedly raping his colleague, was arrested by Bengaluru police on Thursday.
Aporpa Katiyar, a resident of Azad Nagar in the city, is a chemical engineer in a private company in Bengaluru.
He was accused of inviting his girlfriend to his room with his birthday pretusions and raped him at 5.
Survivor had submitted a case against him under the relevant IPC section on September 10 at the Life Insurance Nagar Police Station in Bengaluru.
After the case was ordered, the police were looking for Him.
Bengaluru police traced the location of the engineer to Kanpur.

“On Thursday, the three members of the Bengaluru police reached the Kanpur and arrested the defendant, who was ex -Itian, from his home in the Azadnagar region.
After getting a command B from the court for the defendant, the police took him back to Bengaluru on the same day,” said Inspector of Nawabganj Police Station Devendra Dubey.
He added, “After arresting the defendant, the police also confiscated his cellphone and laptop.” Survivor also expressed concern that he had made a lewd video.
“After a comprehensive investigation, it will be clear whether the engineer makes the obscene video of his female friend or not,” said the Inspector further.
