Ludhiana: Daba police on Friday claimed to have damaged a group of ATM cheats, with three arrests.
The defendant used to exchange the debit card of the person who came to the ATM kiosk with a similar, false with the pretext of helping them.
Then, they will withdraw money from their account.
The police have restored 72 ATM cards from different banks from their ownership.
The arrest is Tarun Sharma, 23, from Mohalla Surjit Nagar, Shubham Singh, 23, from Gurdaspur, currently living in Hargobind Nagar, and Pankaj Kumar, 27, also from Hargobind Nagar.
Their legs, Gurdev Singh from Giaspura, was running around.
The three were arrested with a tip-off, during the attack on Lohara Road, near the roadside restaurant.
At that time, the trio was waiting for their target outside the ATM kiosk.
ADCP-2 Jaskiranjit Singh Teja said, “The defendant will target parents and illiteracy that come to withdraw cash with the pretext of helping them.
They will exchange their ATM cards with similar, false and cheat get their secret PIN codes.

“The case has been registered under 420 (cheating) 34 (the action was carried out by several people in the continuation of general intentions) from the IPC.
ADCP added, “As long as the question, the defendant told the police about their fourth hand, Gurdev Singh.
He has been ordered and will be arrested soon.” The three were produced in front of the court who sent them to two-day police custody.
The case of cheating has been registered with Shubham at the Division 7 police station and Moti Nagar.
Pankaj was ordered in a case of peddling drugs last year at the Division 6 police station.
