Pune: The famous theoretical physicist Thanu Padmanabhan, a well-known professor in the center of Inter-University for Astronomy and Astropsy (IUCAA), known for his research in quantum gravity and gravity, died of a heart stop on Friday.
He is 64 years old.
He survived his wife, Vasanthi Padmanabhan, an astrophysics, and daughter of Hamsa Padmanabhan, is currently a researcher at the University of Geneva in Switzerland.

K Vijayraghavan, the main scientific adviser to the Indian government, said Padmanabhan’s research that connects general relativity and thermodynamics in a new way, and in other regions, has been widely recognized.
“He is a scholar, communicator, extraordinary scientist, and a friend for many people.
