New Delhi: Commuter must have the feeling of ‘oh no, no longer’ after the announcement on Friday that underpasses built in the ashram will miss other deadlines and are not ready before the end of November.
The intersection after all used and underpass work and the extension of the flyover there has been a mess of a busy intersection.
The driver was waiting for September 30 when the facility was opened, but the Delhi government now said it would take two months again because of the need to move high voltage electrical lines detected during construction.
The power cable shift will be carried out by Delhi Transco Limited in a month.
After that the remaining work will take another month.
Tii recently reported that underground power lines hampered the completion of the underpass project.
The Ministry of Public Works Department Satyendar Jain assured Friday that the obstacle would be resolved earlier.
“The work on the underpass is almost complete.
But there are obstacles because of the shift of heavy power cables near the road that is less construction, 16 meters long,” said the Minister.
“Shifting high voltage lines will take about a month.
After that, the rest of the work will be completed in one month.
Therefore, the whole process will require two months.” Jain added that the government was aware that the road near Ashram Chowk is now full of holes .
“All of these holes will be repaired and within a few days, road surface work will be carried out,” said Minister.
Ashram Chowk connects Central and South Delhi with Noida and Faridabad, and the underpass will make Chowk, one of the busiest in the capital serving around three lakh vehicles every day, signal free and free congestion.
The under the surface will relieve the portion for the vehicle coming from Jangpura and Towards Faridabad.
Cross travel will be provided by the flyover that connects Lajpat Nagar, Sarai Kale Khan and DND Flyway.
Stone Foundation for Underpass 750-M is placed by the Chairman of the Minister of Arvind Kejriwal on December 24, 2019, with a year deadline.
The second deadline was repaired for March 202 and then driven to June 2021 because of Covid locking and lack of workers.
When it could not be reached, the project received the fourth deadline in September 202 and is now one fifth two months later.
There was a big traffic jam at busy hours, although even in non-peak hours, walking near the intersection was crowded today.
When underpasses are completed and opened for general use, a significant percentage of the traffic load will pass the lower road, ease the burden on the intersection of the level of the surface, thereby reducing congestion overall at a critical crossroads.
