Pune: The number of cases of Covid-19 (811) continues to survive above recovery (709) in the Pune Metropolitan area for the third day on Friday.
While the PMC area reported more recovery, rural areas and Pimpri Chinchwad recorded more infections.
A total of 491 new patients were added in rural areas, 171 within the PMC and 140 limits in the Pimpri Chinchwad area.
A report by Health Officers Bhagwan Pawar stated that the calculation of positive cases in the region increased to 11.30 lakh on Friday, while progressive recovery reached 11.03 lakh.
Active cases in the region recorded slightly up and reached up to 7,814 on Friday night.
Of these, 4,370 patients were in house isolation.
The region reported 11 deaths again because of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
Four patients died within the PMC limit, six in the rural and one in the PCMC limit.
A total of 26,149 samples were tested in the region on Friday.
Rural areas continue to check more than 10,000 samples.
