Pune: Ritual Idol Ganpati Dhol-Tasha Instruments.
For the second year in a row, administration at Pune has prohibited immersion procession after the pandemic situation.
All idols are soaked in tanks provided by Pune Municipal Corporation.
Soaking rituals start at 7 am in the middle of strict security by police in Pandal and different GanPati temples, including the premise of the five prominent ganpati mandals and other important mandsia.
Police Commissioner with Ravindra Shisve and other senior police officers patrolled on foot to see if there was a ganapati mandal violating the government’s order in the background of the spread of Covid infection.
The steps are taken to prevent crowding in front of the temple and pandal.
The majority of the mandal has prepared a tank in front of their pandal for immersion.
However, Tulshibaug Ganpati Mandal and Bhau Rangari Mandal issued Dhol-Tashas and began playing the instrument.
The police rushed to Mands’s second pandal.
This caused verbal battles between police and mandal workers.
After a few minutes, Mandal members admitted their mistakes and continued to return Dhol-Tashas.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zona I) Priyanka Narnawane said, “Tulshibaug Ganpati Mandal began playing Dhols-Tashas for the procession but the police team went down time and stopped them.
After arguing for some time, they followed the command of the police.
