Ludhiana: Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma on Wednesday said that the Ludhiana District Government has received a new stock of 1.08 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccine and all doses will be used in 260 session sites within 24 hours to ensure rapid vaccination coverage.
Overcoming residents in the weekly live Facebook session on the official page of DPRO Ludhiana, Sharma said that around 26.74 lakh people have so far been vaccinated in the district and has become possible because of the commitment of doctors, paramedics, and all others who worked at the forefront of January 16, 2021 , when the drive inoculation starts.
He praised their nutrition in this vaccination campaign and thanked them for making Ludhiana a “champion” in the war against the biggest pandemic in the last 100 years.
He said that vaccination was the only way to fight the virus and this would help the community to return to normal soon.
He added that the district government would not leave the stone missed by vaccinating every qualified beneficiary before the emergence of anticipated third wave.
Sharma also asked people to continue to observe the appropriate Covid-19 behavior, including wearing a mask, maintaining social distance, and observing hand hygiene despite getting a covid-19 vaccine dose.
