Koban Varsity to adopt a attendance system is less than contacts

JAMSHEDPUR: Koban University (KU) will eliminate a biometric presence system and instead goes for a reading attendance system that is less than contacts for faculty members and staff.
As a first step, 10 facial reading attendance machines will be installed in the Varsity Building next month.
Then, the machine will be installed at 12 constituents and nine affiliated colleges.
“The University’s financial committee has approved the proposal and funds likely to be allocated immediately, after the machine installation process will begin,” My spokesman said P Pani.
He added that the decision was taken to minimize Covid-19 transmission opportunities.
“According to the Covid-19 guidelines of the government, the presence of the biometric finger printing system has been suspended and a conventional physical presence system (where the signs of employees in the attendance register) are being followed,” Pani said.
“The attendance machine faces a new age driven by technology, which is able to track someone’s eyes and capture physiological data and I will be the first university in Jharkhand to adopt this technology,” he added.
Initially, 10 machines recorded the presence of 160 university staff.
“All colleges will be asked to share data from their respective employees and hence, we will decide the number of facial reading machines that need to be installed in each college,” Pani said.
A contractual worker from Jamshedpur Women’s College prefers anonymity to say, “As a fear of the possibility of the third wave of a large Covid Loom, the university must explore the possibility of acquiring machines that have additional features of a person’s body temperature screening.”
