Thiruvananthapuram: The country has received three prestigious health awards announced by the Minister of Health and the Welfare of the Mansukh Mandaviya family in Arogya Mantan 3.0, held to mark the third anniversary Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-Jay).
The state receives awards to provide the highest number of free maintenance throughout the country under its solution of Arogya Surakha Padhathi (Kasp).
The award for the hospital which gave the highest number of free care by the Government of Medical College, Kottayam.
Pradhan Mantri Award Arogya Mitra to provide the highest number of cards under AB PM Jay-Kasp bagged by Aswathi from Vandanam Medical College, Alappuzha.
Health Minister Veena George said that the award was a recognition of the country that carried out activities through Kasp.
In the past three years, around 2 crores were given free care in this country.
From this, 27.5 lakh people, namely 13.66% of the total number, came from the country, said Minister.
The minister added that the implementation of the KASIP in this country has been entrusted to the State Health Agency (SHA) who took care of the program even during a pandemic.
Even patients affected by Covid-19-19, who are not beneficiaries under the chance, have received free treatment from private hospitals in the state.
Under Kasp, a family offered free maintenance to RS 5 Lakh in a year, and under the gift of the Benevolent Fund (KBF), free care to RS 2 Lakh is offered once in a lifetime.
All families with annual income less than Rs 3 Lakh and not included under Kasp, are offered benefits under KBF.
At present, the benefits in this scheme are offered in 192 government hospitals and 569 private hospitals.
