New Delhi: Abstain lawyer from work in all district courts in Delhi on Saturday, the day after the Gangster Jailed Jitender Alias Gogi and the two attackers were killed in a shootout in Rohini.
There is no job that occurred in the District Court, except for urgent things such as extension of guarantees and detainees, because lawyers did not appear before the judge, said Sanjeev Nasiar, spokesman for the coordination committee of all the district court bar associations in Delhi.
The strike was called by a committee that was looking for the modification of security norms in all districts here.
The court, however, received orders and assessments that had been scheduled for Saturday, he said.
Advocate Manjeet Mathur, Secretary of the Rohini District Court Bar Association, said that the strike was peaceful and there was no information about an unpleasant incident received from one of the seven court places.
Advocate bored Kumar, who owns his room at Patiala’s house court, said that even though the lawyer went to their office, they did not appear before the judges.
Advocates also do not take part in virtual or physical hearings in other District Courts – Rouse Avenue, Tis Hazari, Dwarka, Saket and Karkardoom.
A lawyer team also met the police commissioner on Saturday and discussed things related to security, said Nasiar.
A grass war broke out in the crowded Rohini courtroom between two rival gangs where Jitender Prison Gangter was alias Gogi and two attackers disguised as a lawyer killed in a dramatic shootout which also saw police fire bullets in retaliation.
Video recordings from the incident, which exposed security deviations in the system, showed the police and lawyers rushed out panicked because the shot was heard inside the courtroom 207.
