Panaji: On a big jolt for the congress ahead of the 2022 polls of the Crucial Assembly, former Minister of Chief and Navelim MLA Luizinho Faleiro on Monday resigned as a party of MLA.
He handed over his resignation to the Speaker of the Goa Legislative Council Rajesh Pathnekar and would likely join Trinamool Congress (TMC).
With the resignation of Faleiro, the amount of MLA has diminished into four in the 40 members of the Goa legislature.

Faleiro said that many people asked him whether he stopped Congress.
“Of course not.
I belong to the Congress family and I will always be there with Congress, but I have resigned as Mla because I dreamed of building, consolidating, strengthening and uniting the family of Congress at the state and national level and I would work hard To do this, “Faleiro said.
The former head of the minister said that Congress did not belong to anyone.
“Congress is a movement that began by the Father of the Nation of Mahatma Gandhi, former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, former female minister of Sardar Vallabhbhai,” said Faleiro.
“The Congress family has been divided today, there is a Congress of Bengal Bengal Barat Banerjee, YSR Congress, the leader of the NCP Sharad Pawar and there is a congress of my party which is Indira congress but once the family is divided into weakness.
Congress that once gave independence to India is currently weak and loses everything.

Faleiro said that today should be seen who can provide strong opposition to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and to BJP.
