Gurugram: The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) is set to finish six lanings from the stretch between Umang Bharadwaj Chowk and Basai, but commuters from the city are not possible to get help before the end of 2024 because partly 2.2 km, whose rebuilding has not started.
The trapped part in Limbo is part of a long 5.8km stretch between Honda Chowk and Dwarka Expressway Hero near Sector 101, developed by GMDA and the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) to overcome congestion problems.
While the construction of 3.6km stretch from Umang Bharadwaj Chowk to the Dwarka Expressway link near Sector 101 began in 2018, rebuilding the section 2.2 km between Honda Chowk Hero and Umang Bharadwaj Chowk had not started.
This stretch will be developed by the implementation unit of this NHAI Rewari project.
During pregnancy projects, 2.2 KM stretching must be rebuilt independently by NHAI.
But the highway authority has now been beaten by the project with another – a 44km highway from Patudi to Rewari.
The construction of the highway will begin in June this year, but delays in clearing disturbances by HSVP and other obstacles on the land have delayed the project.
Officials, however, hope to start working in October.
“This project has been allocated for field contractors and surveys.
After interference with cleansed and we get the land needed, we will start construction.
We tried hard to start work in the first week of October, “said a senior Nhai official.
Officials said that the soil obstacles were cleared, Nhai would take more than 30 months to complete the project.
If the construction successfully starts next October, the stretch will not be ready before the end of 2024.
The entire project will cost around Rs 1,600 Crore – including the amount needed for land acquisition.
The Pataudi-Rewari Raya will start from the 88A sector near Dwarka Expressway and ends near the crossing of Pataudi.
Stretching between Umang Bharadwaj Chowk and Dwarka Expressway will function as bypass.
GMDA officials said they had urged HSVP to speed up the work to get land.
“HSVP must be able to clear interference in several weeks.
NHAI can start their work on this stretch at least.
Other issues related to land will also be discussed in time – bound, “said a GMDA official.
City planners have suggested that stretching needs to be developed early for congestion avoiding.
They have warned that with high-speed vehicles that come from the side of the basi through six road lines, which are planned to be completed, and converging it down the construction of the lane, the Umang Bharadwaj Chowk will be the main choke point and blackspot accident.
Residents have decided to ask the UNI Minister Nitin Gadkari to develop stretches based on priority.
“This stretch will connect the Dwarka Expressway, so that the meaning cannot be denied.
Even now, this stretch sees a heavy vehicle movement, especially for the new sector population.
We want Nhai to complete the first stretch before putting your hands on the toll road project, “said Prakhar Sahay, who has coordinated with government officials to accelerate the completion of the Dwarka Expressway.
