NEW DELHI: The New Khurja-New Bhaupur segment of Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor put a fresh album for a cargo train averaged a rate of 99.
4 kmph.
That can be faster than the normal rate of Rajdhani trains.
On Saturday, three cargo trains ran in an average rate of over 99 kmph over the 331-km New Khurja-New Bhaupur division, which had been inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi past December.
The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation (DFCCIL) stated 137 trains have reached a mean rate of over 90 kmph with this segment.
Another part, the 306 kilometers between Rewari and Madar in the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC), has been started on January 7.
Until Saturday 4,000 trains were worked on both of these stretches.
Over 3,000 trains were conducted onto the EDFC.
The DFCCIL stated there are many things that have guaranteed high speed performance of cargo trains on such corridors.
To begin with, the dual line electrical track enables greater haulage at greater rates.
Second, because the corridors are just intended for cargo trains, there’s not any mixed visitors and there’s absolutely not any speed limitation throughout the road.
“The curve of more than 2.
5 levels assists in attaining the rate of 100 kmph,” said an official.
