Kolkata: Two people, including a 3-year-old player died after a portion of a housing building collapsed in Kolkata on Wednesday morning.
They were saved from the debris of the building in Ahiritola Lane in the city but then gave up on their injury.
The woman who had died and the child was stuck on the upper floor of the building and three other people trapped on the ground floor were saved, police said.
The accident occurred around 6:45 a.m.
even when the city witnessed heavy rainfall with a round in several parts of the metropolitan city.
The building fell in the jurisdiction of the Jorabagan police station area.
The rescue team consisting of personnel from the disaster management team, firefighters, electricity and local police engaged in rescue operations.
The Indian Meteorology Department, Kolkata has also predicted an intense or Bower spell which is accompanied by strong winds above Kolkata and regions side by side because Cyclone Storm ‘Gulab’ is likely to reach West Bengal Beach on Wednesday.
