Gurugram: A woman and friend, both of them in their 20s, have been arrested for allegedly beating their girlfriend to sector 56 after she tried to break up with him.
Victims have been identified as Asif (25).
The police said he and Sonia (24), both of them came from Budaun’s district up up, had met at a meeting in Gurugram in 2018.
They had established a relationship since then.
Last year, Sonia, who had undergone training in stitching clothes, had moved to Jalandhar in Punjab for work in a textile company while Asif continued to drive a Gurugram car to get his livelihood.
While both of them stay in touch, the relationship loses warmth and they begin to float apart.
ASIF family members began looking for a partner for him and because he did not want to conflict with their wishes, he suggested Sonia that he had to move too.
The police said Asif was attached to his decision despite the effort repeatedly by Sonia to continue the relationship.
For the past three or four months, he began to breathe it, which made him angry.
He then planned to eliminate him with Jacob’s help (26), a friend who often called his brother.
Jacob also from Budaun and moved the car in Gurugram.
Sonia recently traveled to Gurugram from Punjab and called Asif for the last meeting to resolve all problems on Tuesday night.
Asif arrived in his car and picked up Sonia and Jacob, after that the trio went to ‘Baraat Ghar’ in Ghata Village.
“The heated argument broke out and Sonia and Jacob struggled Asif in the car.
They then dragged him out and attacked him in the head and face with iron and stone stems,” said ACP (crime) Preet Sangwan.
Asif died in place and the defendant escaped, leaving the car behind.
Prem Singh, a resident of Ghata Village, said his tenant was on the roof for some work when he saw a man beaten in the car behind ‘Baraat Ghar’.
“We found a man lying in a pool of blood and told the police,” he added.
A team from the 56 sector police office rushed to place.
Sho Amit Kumar said the ASIF body was handed over to his family after post-Mortem, who revealed that he suffered a critical injury.
The police managed to track the defendant with the help of a car left in the place and an Asif identity document in his wallet.
“Sonia will leave Gurugram when our team caught him,” said ACP Sangwan.
During the investigation, Sonia accused that Asif had threatened to post on the social media ‘intimate video’ which he had taken with it.
However, the police said they had not found evidence to prove the claim.
“In the call recording, Asif can be heard trying to end their relationship.
If he tries to break up with him, why did he harass him?” Said a senior police officer.
