Trichy: The Beat System which was enhanced to increase patrols by the police and their interface with the general public was inaugurated on Friday in five districts in the trichy range.
The idea of patrol is to make police visibility near women’s schools, colleges, children’s homes, old houses, senior houses, locked houses, jewelry stores, banks and ATMs.
Launched a new Beat Beat System by marking 36 vehicles for the purpose of a knock in the Trichy District, Inspector General of Police (IGP), the Central Zone, V Balakrishnan said that patrol visibility would increase with dedicated police personnel.
The system, which is the initiative of the new deputy Inspector General (excavated), which is just appointed, a Saravana Sundar, will be held at Trichy Rural, Karur, Pulajottai, Ariyalur and Screens.
Analyzing recent crimes and vulnerable areas, Trichy Range police identified 134 Beats – 36 in Trichy, 51 in Pudukkottai, 20 in Karur, 9 in Screens and 18 in Ariyalur.
A total of 384 police personnel were deployed with every knock handled by three police officers.
Each of them will cover the designated area for eight hours for one shift before handing it to another for the second and third shift.
“Whatever they do, we have made a system.
They will become a police interface to people in the area by having a good link with the association of welfare.
The gap between the public and the police will also be bridged,” Sundar told Tii on Friday.
