Ludhiana: Immediately, Ludhiana Police will start the E Challan payment facility in place, where violators will be able to pay a fine with a debit card.
Traffic police will get a Point of Sale (POS) machine from the Indian state bank under CSR activity and switch to new modes, which are only for compound Challan, around Dussehra.
In the first phase, the traffic police will get around 25 post machines.
Commissioner with the police (city and traffic) Deepak Pareak said, “We tried to use the best technology in the police.
Previously, we had started the e-challans where the camera caught a red light jumper and Challan was automatically sent to vehicle owners and online payment facilities provided .
Now, we will provide electronic payment facilities in place for compound challan.
Some other cities, such as Chandigarh, have this facility.
“Two types of challans, compounds and non-compounds.
Non-compound challans are those whose violators must visit the court and their compounds are where cash payments in the place can be made.
If someone fails to pay cash payments, he must visit the Office of the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) to pay Challan.
Sometimes, the traffic police send Challans to RTA late and people must make a round for payment.
Payment of e-spot challan will make the process more subtle and troublesome free.
Gurdeep Singh, a resident of Harbanspura, said, “I took Challan for not wearing a helmet on September 1 and I was asked to emerge the RTA office for payment on September 28th.
When I got there, I was told that there was no entry of my challan in the system.
Now , I have been asked to come on 2.
“Other city residents say,” Challan’s payment at the RTA office was troublesome.
One must stand in the queue, in addition to the RTA office closed on Saturday and Sunday.
There are brokers who charge Rs 300 to Rs 500 for Helps in making payments.
Payment through the postal machine is a fairly large initiative, because it will also check corruption.
