Ludhiana: A week after three unidentified criminals broke open ATM kiosks in Bhutta Village in Dehlon area, the city police have not arrested the perpetrators.
The accusation has escaped with cash by cutting ATMs with a gas cutter.
Apart from such incidents, many ATM kiosks are not safe.
When a team from TOI visited various ATMs in the city on Saturday night, found that some banks have not taken enough safety precautions to prevent more robbery such as unmanned and open kiosks.
Team from Toi has visited Gill Road, Dugri Road, Model Town, Shastri Nagar, Bharat Nagar Chowk and Kochar Market after 9:30 a.m.
to check the security of the ATM kiosk.
Some ATM robberies have been reported in the city.
In most cases, the defendant had used a gas cutter to open the kiosk and in some cases the defendant even pulled out the kiosk and fled.
On September 25, criminals borne by the car were first broken to open the ATM kiosk shutter in Bhutta using a gas cutter.
After entering the kiosk, the defendant sprayed something through a CCTV camera, then using a gas cutter breaking the ATM and escaping with cash.
According to information, the engine contains around Rs 18.38 lakh.
On April 6, 2020, a case was reported in the undergraduate area when a security guard was deployed at the Kiosk ATM had thwarted a robbery offer.
When the robbers tried to rob ATMs, Sitan Guard and opposed them.
Allegations also attacked the guard with sharp-eyed weapons, however, the guard continued to fight.
The accusation finally escaped empty-handed.
Last year, when ATM robbery was reported, then Police Commissioner Rakesh Agarwal had a meeting with bank representatives.
Agarwal then told TII that the bank did not have funds to employ full-time security guards.
He added that the police had begun to patrol around the ATM kiosk.
Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said, “We are concerned about the security of the ATM kiosk.
The meeting with the main bank manager is scheduled this week.
We will come with several solutions.”
