Ghaziabad: Towards winter, the Uttar Pradesh pollution control body (UPPCB) has identified 10 pollution hotspots in Ghaziabad.
In a survey conducted recently, pollution sources in each of these hotspots – from industries to construction dust and garbage burning – have also been registered.
Sahibabad, Loni, Kaushambi, Raj Nagar Extension and Vasundhara are some fields that have found mentioning the UPPCB list.
District judges have ordered the quick response team settings to maintain the level of pollution.
Government agencies such as NCRTC and NHAI, involved in the main infrastructure projects in the city, have been instructed to take steps to control dust around the construction site and install anti-fog weapons.
The quality air quality has been the cause in Ghaziabad, which has produced fame as one of the most polluted cities in the country.
“The quality of the overall air deteriorated significantly during the winter in Ghaziabad.
Over the past few years, the city has been searched for the list of spicy areas of the country.
While this is largely due to the topography of the region, local factors are equally responsible,” said Utsav Sharma, uppcb regional officer.
“This time, UPPCB and the administration of Ghaziabad have started initial preparation to ensure the pollution level remains a check.
So, surveys are carried out and 10 pollution hotspots are identified along with local sources.

According to the survey, traffic congestion, industrial emissions, road dust and waste disposal are the main source of pollution in Sahibadad.loni, which is a hub of illegal factories that move in taking e-waste and metals, believed to be one of the main contributors to pollution in city.
There are around 350 pollutants in 11 industrial zones in Ghaziabad, many of which are around residential areas such as Sahibabad.
“We have asked all industries to mark the factory names in the chimney so that polluting can be identified easily,” Sharma said.
After the UPPCB survey, district judges have passed special instructions.
“The city’s corporation has been asked to carry out the sweeping of the mechanical and paving of green from the dusty area.
The response team is fast to oversee the burning of garbage in the open.
They will also take the necessary steps on the offenders,” said RK Singh, the district judge.
“To examine the pollution of vehicles and dust, the authorities concerned have been asked to start a sprinkling of water in certain areas and diesel vehicles are lit more than 10 years and gasoline vehicles over 15 years old,” Singh added.
