Ranchi: Ranchi Train Division from the South East Railway on Wednesday announced to run Tri-Weekly special trains that connect the Hati and Durg train station to clean the Rush Festival.
In a statement, the division said the train would make nine trips between October 7 and November 4 through Rourkela Station, Jharsuguda, Raigarh and Bilalaspur.
However, the Ranchi Pradeep Kumar Gupta Division Train Manager said the division had no information about whether other festive special trains would be operated in the coming days.
While three express trains currently operate between Hatia and Howrah stations, this division indicates that there are no plans to operate the special festival on the route during the Puja Durga.
Nothing specials that have been announced for Bihar.
Until 2019, Ser Ran bi-weekly trained trains from Hata to Santragachi Station to clean up festively.
Last year, Ser continued the three regular train services connecting Ranchi and Howrah stations and two trains connecting Ranchi and Patna ahead of Durga Puja by fighting for them as a festive special train.
“Even though there are no festive special trains announced by the train so far, there is no effort to restore regular trains.
Even the passenger train is converted to be special and their fare is hiking strangely,” said Prem Kataruka, Secretary of the Jharkhand Association of Passenger.
“Thousands of people traveled to their homes from Ranchi and returned to their homes here during the celebration season.
The tariff is too high, sometimes as high as 1.5 times.
Indian trains must recognize economic troubles, people are and regulate tariffs,” Kataruka said.
