New Delhi: India on Thursday said it expects Chinese to work towards the initial resolution of the remaining problems along the actual control line (LAC) in East Ladakh while fully complying with the bilateral agreements and protocols.
Arinindam Bagchi’s external ministry spokesman said India had reaffirmed through a statement that “provocative” behavior and “unilateral” steps by the Chinese caused a disorder of peace and tranquility in the area.
Asked about the report of the attack by the Chinese side, Bagchi said he could not comment on such a military aspect and the defense ministry would be able to answer it.
“It is our hope that China will work towards the initial resolution of the problem remaining along the actual control line on the East Ladakh while fully obeying the bilateral agreement and protocol,” Bagchi said in a media briefing here.
He also noted that Minister of External Minister Jaishankar had held a discussion with his partner China Wang Yi in Tajikistan on the sidelines of the SCO summit last month and delivered the Indian holder.
The border deadlock between the Indian and Chinese military erupted on May 5 last year in East Ladakh following the clash of violence in the area of Lake Pangong.
Both parties gradually increased their placement by rushing for tens of thousands of soldiers and heavy weapons.
As a result of a series of military and diplomatic talks, both parties completed the release process in the Gographia region last month.
In February, both parties completed the withdrawal of troops and weapons from the north and South Bank of Lake Pangong in line with the release agreement.
Each side currently has around 50,000 to 60,000 troops along the actual control line (LAC) in the sensitive sector.
Asked about Indian students and academics who could not travel to China because of the limitation of Covid the country on the trip, Bagchi said the problem with respect to China was that he said it had restrictions for all countries.
“We made an effort to make a forward movement (on this problem),” he said, asserting that India was engaged to several countries to facilitate traveling for Indians.
